Fundraising ideas
Nominate us as your charity of the year
Your school can get involved with fundraising for Afrocats as your charity of the year, and you'll get to see the impact of your fundraising with updates throughout the year or term.
Dress up - or down!
Pick a Friday and hold a dress-up or dress-down day and dress up as your favourite character, artist or even country.
Hold a raffle or a bakeoff
Raffle off prizes that you've made or sourced from local businesses, or have a Great British Bakeoff and craft some yummy sweet treats to sell on the day.
Organise a collection box
Keep a collection box on your school reception desk or in the staffroom.
Enjoy a movie day
Pick movies from different cultures to screen in school, charge a ticket entry fee, and sell popcorn or other tasty treats.
Donate goods or products
We regularly need donations of toiletries, clothing, period products, laptops or tablets, and data - why not support us by keeping a collection box in your school?
Supporting your curriculum
Partnering with Afrocats can support your school PHSE, citizenship and geography syllabus.
Through lessons and fundraising efforts, this can help your students to empathise and explore topics such as migration, culture shock, and displacement, which many of our participants endure every day.
